The Foreign Minister of Romania, Titus Corlatean at the Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy in the Levant

During the Syposium on Cultural Diplomacy in the Levant, organized by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin in Bucharest on 23-25th of May 2013, the Foreign Minister of Romania, Titus Corlatean spoke about the economic relations between Romania and the Levantine countries and the importance that this exchanges play for the international relations.

“Romania has special cultural and geographical connections with the countries in the Levantine area. Romania has come a long way from dictatorship to democracy and now we are part of NATO. We are ready to share our experience with our friends and partners from the neighboring area.(…) The economic exchanges between Romania and the Levantine countries have amounted to over 7 billion dollars last year. It´s a good thing and that is why we must focus on extending and strengthening these economic ties with the neighboring countries” said Titus Corlatean, the Minister of Foreign Affairs during the conference held in Bucharest entitled ’’Levant, cradle of the cultural diplomacy. Rediscovering the Mediterranean’’.
