Russia Welcomes Growing Independence of Latin America

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Ryabkov, says Russia is pleased to see that Latin America has gained more independence amidst attempts of the United States to meddle in the region’s affairs

The words of the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Monday, were that Russia is pleased to see that Latin America has gained more independence amidst attempts of the United States to meddle in the region’s affairs.Thereby Russia is trying to dominate global and local issues of Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Ryabkov spoke at a conference titled: "New realities of modern economic, political and cultural development of Ibero-America." "We see that the US foreign policy has reinvigorated in this direction up to direct attempts to interfere in domestic affairs of a number of states of the region," Ryabkov said.

International relations are too complex, so that can not be mastered from a single center, and more when it comes to the development of a continent.

In relation to this, he said. "In this light, we welcome that Latin America and the Caribbean Basin are surely getting greater independence."

"We see that the region is becoming one of pillars of the forming multipolar world," Ryabkov said.

"The leadership of a number of Latin American countries has to settle complicated internal problems that have regional projection," the diplomat said.

"Russia is interested in overcoming crisis situations exclusively by political methods," he said. "Russia is ready to assist the efforts to the extent to which Latin Americans themselves are interested in this."
