From November 18th to November 22nd the Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival (LATFF) will take place. It is an event, organized by the HIF Corporation. The purpose of LATFF is to promote awareness of Turkish cinema in the West Coast, to provide future networking relations among young filmmakers, and to give the creative team (directors, writers, producers, and directors of photography) the opportunity to showcase their work in the heart of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival has only one competition category, for short films. The LATFF screens internationally awarded Turkish feature films alongside the short film competition. Every year, LATFF collaborates with international film festivals to screen international short films during the celebration. The Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival gives out the Best Film Award, the Golden Egg award for the best short film, two Special Jury Awards, and one Audience Award.

LATFF's advisory board is made up of important American and Turkish scholars and film industry professionals. The board also includes scholars from two prominent film schools in the United States such as Barbara Boyle, the Associate Dean of Entrepreneurship and Special Initiatives for the School of Theater, Film and Television at UCLA. Also on the board is Kathy E. Smith who is the Chair of the John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts at USC. As well as Elvis Mitchell, a well-known industry professional, film critic, and LACMA film curator. The board members from Turkey include internationally awarded independent film director, Derviş Zaim, a recipient of the Golden Bear Award from the Berlin Film Festival, director Semih Kaplanoğlu, well-known Turkish actress Belcim Bilgin, World Film Critics Association (FIPRESCI) Vice President Alin Taşciyan, and Hollywood-based award-winning composer Rahman Altin.
